Metin otomotiv manufactured all kinds of ferrous and non-ferrous powder metal parts until 1996 when its board of directors resolved to conduct researches on carbon brushes and self-lubricated sinter bearings; the said resolution would be a turning point.
The company began to develop alternative products for electro-graphite brushes in 1997, and made its first resin-bound graphite. Then it decided to conduct research and development works on a brush which could have properties similar to those of electro-graphite brushes on the one hand, and which could be manufactured by employing an energy cost-effective method. The prototype brushes were made in mid-1997 and installed on a low-current, high-speed a. C. Motor.
